Custom Work
We have been building custom street Harleys since the early
1970's - the good old days of leaky panheads and jockey shifts! Thankfully,
engineering and manufacturing techniques have improved since those "good old
days". Plus, thirty-plus years experience busting knuckles on Harleys have
taught us a thing or two we didn't learn at factory school.
We pride ourselves in building custom motorcycles made to
fit the owner. We offer build kits from Custom Chrome, Mid-West, Yaffe, and
Ironworks. Experience has taught us to build customs in the following manner.
We construct the machine totally in grey metal to confirm fitment and
alignment, then tear down the bike to make ready for paint. At this point, we
prefer to give the grey metal to the owner. It is much better for the owner to
work one-on-one with the painter. That way, you get to have your input with the
painter to make certain you get the look you want.
We do not and will not modify the steering or suspension
geometry of a production frame. With the variety of frames available, we can
find one to fit your size and style of riding.
With most machines, we have found that about 200 man hours
are required to build from the ground up. We are a small facility and are able
to only build a few bikes each year. On the upside, we welcome customer input
on a daily basis during the construction process. This is your machine and we
want you to be a part of it!
